While A and I were wandering about having our plans thwarted, we needed to get some lunch as it was already past 3pm. The Pontefract Castle loomed into sight and the thought of some hot pub food and a pint was enough to pull us in. After grabbing a pint of ale and a half pint of cider, A ordered Cumberland sausages and mash while I had the fish and chips. They do drinks better than they do food. This one is part of the Classic Pubs chain (http://www.classicpubs.co.uk/), which always keep a rotating selection of real ales on tap.
